circle of life..
When my father died, i spent many moments thinking through it all. Who can i blame?
He was 89. He had lived a good, long life. It was hard, still is hard, and there are days when I miss him so much I can't breath.
But, it was his time. he had a full life. There was no one to blame. Not the doctors, not the drugs, not anyone, but nature and the universe.
Today, I received news that a colleague and friend passed away. 3 years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer. We all thought she would beat it. She came to my shoot in April to shadow me. Words can't express how honored I was that she chose me to shadow that day.
Now, she's gone. She was one of the few really good ones in this world. She did nothing wrong. She lived right, and had two beautiful kids.
There was NO reason that God, if that's who it is, took her to heaven. NO REASON.
She was needed here. We need more people in the world like her. Her family, her husband, her kids...they need her here. I can't, i just can't make sense of this.
Cancer is horrible.
AS much as i bitch about my stupid house, or my cat that is chronically ill that continues to pee on my sofa it all pales in comparison to losing Lisa.
My heart breaks for the loss this world will feel.
In a perfect world, the people who do bad things would suffer things like cancer.
The people who do good things, would live wonderful, full lives.
What a fucked up world this is.
Please, please take are of yourselves. Get your annual checks. If something is bad, get it checked out.
Goodbye Lisa. The world is a darker place without your shining soul.
Hug your loved ones. Be kind to each other.
Clear skies.
